Prior to treatment, a thorough assessment is administered to all children and parents referred to CAPP. The primary purpose of the assessment is to determine the nature of the child's problems and to ensure appropriate for treatment.
The assessment includes a structured interview and a number of questionnaires that are given to both the child and the primary caregiver (usually the mother). The questionnaires ask about the child’s emotions and behaviors. In addition to the questionnaires, children complete computer tasks that assist us in determining the most appropriate treatment for them.
